I think that one major theme in the story is that you should never give up. Their are many examples of when Brian is thinking of giving up and at one time he almost tried to end his life. That is one theme I have for Hatchet.

A good theme that I would give the first 15 chapters of hatchet would be action packed. I would give the first 15 chapters that theme because it has many adrenaline rushing events that captivate you. For example when the plane goes down in one of the first chapters it captivated me because it was unpredictable and pretty much could have determined the outcome of the whole book.

I think the one major theme is that Brian tries to give up a lot but still keeps hope. He wanted to kill himself at once put is still trying to adapt to his surrondings. That is one theme in Hatchet.

I believe that a major theme in Hatchet is adaptation because Brian has to adapt to his surroundings by eating turtle eggs and eating raw fish. Also, he has to adapt to his own feelings because his old feelings were that he expected everybody to just give him what he wanted. He realized that not everything was given to him and that he had to fight for survival.

I think a good theme for the book "Hatchet" would be adventurous. I think this because he has to survive on his own and he runs into bears, wolves, and has to eat gross tart berries. ( gut cherries ) Also because he figures out a way to build a sturdy lean-to and encounters a skunk attack.

I think a good theme for the book, "Hatchet", and the first 15 chapters would be transformational because he undergoes many transformations in the book. For example, he has to transform from a city boy to a nature boy when he really has to think about what he's doing and how he can improve it so he can survive longer. He has also learned how not to rely on someone or something to do one thing for him. He has leaned to do it himself and stay positive to know he can
accomplish anything.

I think in hatchet adaptation is a really big theme. He has to adapt to different kinds of weather, conditions, and food. I think that Brian has become more animal like because he is trying to survive.

I believe a good theme for chapter fifteen of Brian's Winter is you can use hide for many things. I believe this could be a good theme for this chapter because, even though he used hide a lot in other chapters, he used it uniquely in this particular one. He actually made a sleigh! Another reason I think this theme makes sense is because Brian killed a doe in the same chapter and made a big deal out of it, so I think the theme should be related to that.

The theme I would give the first 15 chapters of "Hatchet" is outdoor survival. I would give it this theme because Brian is trapped in the wilderness and has to survive.

I think the theme of Hatchet is never give up. In Hatchet, Brian keeps wanting to give up, but he never does. Brian knows that if he wants to survive, he must try his hardest.

I think one major theme in the first fifteen chapters of Hatchet is adaption, because there are many times when Brian reacts to something as he would in the city, but he has to become a part of nature to understand what is going on.

I would have to say that the theme for hatchet would be survival because through the book he has been facing hard times without food water and shelter handed to him. He has to overcome the situation and fight for survival.

A theme that I would give the first 15 chapters of Hatchet is survival. He spends these first chapters building a shelter, eating berries, finding food, building a fire, hunting, fishing, making spears and bows, and chopping wood with nothing but a hatchet in the woods. He must thrive with little to nothing.

I think the theme of the first 15 chapters of Hatchet is that you need to be hopeful. Through out the chapters that we have read so far, at some points Brian has unlimited hope, but then he looses it all. For example he was very, very happy when he built his fire. But then when the search and rescue plane passed and didn't see him, he lost all hope. So much that he tried to end his life.

A theme that I would give the first 15 chapters of "Hatchet" is adaptation, because its not that easy to live in the the wilderness and be able to survive for more than a month. Brian had to adapt to the fact that he had to do everything himself and that people weren't going to just hand him food.

A possible theme for the book "Hatchet" is survival. I think this because Brian's main goal is to survive. Think about it, Brian is either gathering food, making his shelter better, or making tools for himself. These specific things are in survival. Brian is also understanding sounds, nature, and enviroment to help himself. That's why I think a possible theme for this book could be survival.

I beileve that one of the the themes of chapters 1-15 is that it can happen to you. An example of this theme is when the text explains that Brian is going to fly to his dad in Canada and has a sandwich and some extra money incase he needs it. He had no intention or even a thought that the pilot would have heart attack and he would crash. That is a theme that I found in chapters 1-15.

I belive that the theme of Hatchet is survival. This is because Brian learns how to survive in the wild. From Fishing with a bow and arrow to eating ripe rasberries, Brian is learning the skills of survival.

I think that a good theme is perserverance because it tells us how hard he worked and what he did too get the bird meat. This shows that brain has excellent perserveranceand keeps at something until he gets it.

I think the biggest theme from the first fifteen chapters is learning how to survive with very low experience. Brian has to prove himself that he can survive in the wilderness.

I think that a good theme for Hatchet is to stay true to who you are, because the reason Brian is still alive is because he keeps looking back at his life for help.

I feel the theme for "Hatchet" is to keep pushing forward. Be determined no matter what. Brian showed this all through these chapters.
